Saints Re-Signing QB Teddy Bridgewater To One-Year, $7.25M Deal

The Saints are re-signing QB Teddy Bridgewater, according to Dianna Russini.

  • Adam Schefter reports that Bridgewater will sign a one-year, $7.25 million fully guaranteed contract with the Saints.
  • According to Ian Rapoport, Bridgewater’s contract is worth up to $12.5 million.

Bridgewater confirmed the news via his Twitter account:

Bridgewater met with the Dolphins on Wednesday, but it appears as though a return to the Saints was the best move for him.

Bridgewater, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Vikings back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $6,849,502 rookie contract after Minnesota declined to pick up his fifth-year option.

Bridgewater signed a one-year, $6 million contract with the Jets last year that includes just $500,000 guaranteed. However, the Jets later traded him to the Saints during the preseason.

In 2018, Bridgewater appeared in five games for the Saints and completed 14 of 23 pass attempts for 118 yards, one touchdown and an interception. He also rushed for five yards.
