According to Amie Just, the Saints are signing WR Maurice Harris to a futures deal on Thursday.
Harris was last with the Patriots before being released on injured reserve with a settlement.
The full list of Saints futures includes:
- WR Emmanuel Butler
- DT Jalen Dalton
- LB Andrew Dowell
- S Chris Johnson
- OT Derrick Kelly
- DL Mitchell Loewen
- WR Taquan Mizzell
- WR Tim White
- TE Cole Wick
- WR Maurice Harris
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Harris, 27, wound up signing on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of California back in 2016. He has been on and off of the Redskins’ active roster the past few years, but managed to make the 53-man roster in 2018.
The Redskins declined to tender Harris a restricted offer in 2019 and he signed with the Patriots as an unrestricted free agent. New England waived him with an injury designation and he reverted to the team’s injured reserve list before being released with a settlement.
In 2018, Harris appeared in 12 games for the Redskins and caught 28 passes for 304 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He also rushed for 10 yards and had 11 punt return yards.
