Report: Saints Signing K Shayne Graham To Replace Waive K Garrett Hartley

Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports reports that the Saints are signing K Shayne Graham to replace Garrett Hartley who was released earlier Tuesday.

The New Orleans Saints waived K Garrett Hartley and CB Chris Carr on Tuesday.

There was some talk that Hartley could be on the chopping block now that he’s struggled for much of the 2013 season. Hartley notably missed a 26-yard field goal against the Rams this past Sunday, which was apparently the final straw.

This season, Hartley has converted 22-of-30 field goal attempts (73%), which currently ranks No. 30 in the NFL. The past three seasons, Hartley has converted over 80 percent of his attempts, but given that most NFL kickers are making a higher percentage than that, it makes sense that the Saints would look to move on.
