Nick Underhill of the Advocate reports that the Saints are placing FB John Robinson-Woodgett on waivers Thursday.
- Underhill adds that the Saints have also waived WR Xavier Rush.
Phillips, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Massachusetts back in May. He stands to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract.
During his college career at UMass, Robinson-Woodgett recorded 88 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, a sack and a forced fumble over the course of 32 games.
