The New Orleans Saints have placed S Mykkele Thompson on waivers Wednesday to make room for S Sharrod Neasman, according to Herbie Teope.
Thompson, 25, if a former fifth-round pick of the Giants back in 2015. He was in the third year of his four-year, $2,508,864 and set to make base salaries of $615,000 and $705,000 over the final two years of the agreement when the Giants waived him from injured reserve with a settlement last September.
The Saints later signed Thompson to their practice squad and brought him back on a futures contract this past January.
In 2016, Thompson was limited to appearing in just one game before he was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury.
