The New Orleans Saints officially waived WR Josh Smith, WR Travin Dural and WR Eldridge Massington with injury designations on Wednesday.
The Saints also activated TE Michael Hoomanawanui from the PUP list.
On Tuesday, the Saints signed the following receivers:
- WR Brandon Tate. (NFLTR)
- WR Michael Floyd. (NFLTR)
Should Smith and Massington clear waivers tomorrow, they would revert to the Saints’ injured serve list.
Smith, 24, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee back in June. This is his first opportunity with an NFL team.
During his five-year college career at Tennessee, Smith caught 63 passes for 764 yards receiving and five touchdowns over the course of 36 games.
