Seahawks Hosted DT Shamar Stephen On Visit

According to Howard Balzer, the Seahawks brought in free agent DT Shamar Stephen for a visit on Tuesday.

Seattle also met with Tom Johnson and Bennie Logan, so they’re clearly in the market to add some interior defensive line help.

Stephen previously met with the Lions but left Detroit without a deal. The Vikings reportedly have some interest in possibly re-signing Stephen.

Stephen, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Vikings back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,285,148 contract with the Minnesota Vikings and is testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2017, Stephen appeared in 15 games for the Vikings and recorded 28 tackles and one sack. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 87 interior defender out of 122 qualifying players.
