The Seahawks announced on Wednesday they have placed CB Neiko Thorpe on injured reserve with a sports hernia injury that needed surgery last week.
Seattle promoted CB Ryan Neal from the practice squad to take Thorpe’s place and signed RB Xavier Turner to the practice squad.

Thorpe, 29, originally signed on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn back in 2012. He spent two years in Kansas City before he signed a future/reserve contract with the Raiders at the end of 2014.
Thorpe returned to Oakland on a one-year exclusive rights deal in 2015, but he was cut loose during the preseason. The Colts later claimed him off waivers only to cut him a few days later.
Thorpe would later sign with the Seahawks a few weeks into the regular season in 2016. He re-signed with Seattle in 2017 and again this past offseason.
In 2019, Thorpe appeared in seven games for the Seahawks and recorded 6 tackles with no interceptions or pass defenses.
