The Seattle Seahawks officially re-signed OT George Fant to a one-year restricted contract for the 2019 season on Monday.
The Seahawks also re-signed nine exclusive rights free agents including:
- LB Austin Calitro
- LB Emmanuel Ellerbee
- C Joey Hunt
- DE Branden Jackson
- S Shalom Luani
- RB J.D. McKissic
- LS Tyler Ott
- CB Kalan Reed
- G Jordan Simmons
The Seahawks used a second-round tender on Fant that will cost them $3.095 million for the 2019 season.
Fant, 26, signed on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Western Kentucky back in 2016. He finished a three-year rookie contract and was set to test the open market for the first time in his career if not tendered.
In 2018, Fant appeared in all 16 games for the Seahawks and started seven. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 26 overall offensive tackle out of 80 qualifying players.
McKissic, 25, wound up signing with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas State back in 2016. He was, unfortunately, waived coming out of the preseason but was later signed to the Falcons’ practice squad.
Atlanta waived McKissic towards the end of the 2016 season and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Seahawks. Seattle re-signed him to a one-year exclusive rights tender back in April of last year and was, once again, an ERFA this offseason.
In 2018, McKissic appeared in five games for the Seahawks and recorded three rushing attempts for eight yards and no touchdowns.
