Jones, 26, was taken in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Bills. Buffalo traded Jones to the Chargers in 2017 in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick.
Jones was entering the third year of his four-year, $2.72 million rookie contract when the Chargers waived him coming out of the preseason. L.A. signed him to their practice squad after clearing waivers.
The Chargers re-signed him to a futures deal back in January but was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason. The Seahawks later re-signed him to their practice squad.
In 2016, Jones completed 6 of 11 passing attempts (54.5 percent) for 96 yards receiving and one interception.
