Seahawks Signing DT Tom Johnson To One-Year Deal

Tom Pelissero reports that the Seahawks are signing DT Tom Johnson to a one-year deal worth up to $2.7 million.

Johnson visited the Seahawks recently, so he was clearly on their radar as a potential replacement to Sheldon Richardson.

Johnson, 33, originally signed on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Miss back in 2006. He lasted just over a year with the Colts before eventually catching on with the Saints in 2011.

After three years in New Orleans, Johnson signed a one-year deal with the Vikings. He played out the final year of his three-year, $7 million contract and is now in line to be an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Johnson appeared in all 16 games for the Vikings and recorded 32 tackles and two sacks.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
