Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said TE Ed Dickson had knee surgery and will be out for 4-5 weeks, per John Boyle.
The team had been deliberating on whether the veteran tight end needed surgery this week.
Dickson, 32, is a former third-round pick by the Ravens out of Oregon in the 2010 NFL Draft. He is entering the second year of a three-year, $10.7 million contract and is set to earn a $3.3 million base salary in 2019.
Dickson played out his three-year rookie contract in Baltimore before re-signing to a one-year deal as a restricted free agent.
He signed with the Panthers to a three-year deal in 2015 and finished out his contract with the team. Dickson signed with Seattle back in March, 2018.
In 2018, Dickson appeared in 10 games for the Seahawks and recorded 12 receptions for 143 yards receiving (11.9 YPC) and scored three touchdowns.
