The Seattle Seahawks announced Wednesday that they’ve placed TE Justin Johnson on waivers to make room for QB Geno Smith.
Johnson, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Mississippi State back in May of last year. He later agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Seahawks.
Unfortunately, Johnson was waived with an injury designation during the preseason after suffering an Achilles injury and later reverted to their injured reserve list.
During his four-year college career at Mississippi State, Johnson caught 35 passes for 357 yards receiving and three touchdowns over the course of four seasons and 24 games.
