Seahawks Waive/Injured WR Tyler Slavin, Sign TE Clayton Echard

The Seattle Seahawks announced Sunday that they placed WR Tyler Slavin on waivers with the injury designation and signed TE Clayton Echard to a contract.

The Seahawks are now at the 90-man roster limit.

Should Slavin clear waivers on Monday, it’s likely he’ll revert to their injured reserve list.

Slavin, 24, originally signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of New Mexico Highlands back in May of last year. He was among the team’s final roster cuts coming out of the preseason, but later signed on to the Seahawks practice squad in November of last year.

Seattle elected to bring Slavin back on a future/reserve contract, only to cut him loose shortly after this year’s draft. Slavin returned to the team just a few days later.

Slavin has yet to appear in an NFL game.
