Ian Rapoport of NFL.com writes that Miami Dolphins’ CB Sean Smith could be the “most coveted” cornerback in this year’s free agent market.
Rapoport lists the Eagles, 49ers, Buccaneers and Lions as interested team, but adds that the Eagles could be the one to watch out for.
According to Rapoport, Philadelphia “likes him a ton,” but have some concerns regarding his overall asking price. Rapoport even suggests that the Eagles could allow Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to walk and restructure Nnamdi Asomugha‘s contract.
There have been several reports that have suggested that Smith could be targeting as much as $24 million in guaranteed cash in his next contract, but if the market is as deep as Rapoport suggests, he stands a chance of securing that kind of deal.
