Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing aย source with knowledge of the situation, reports that aย settlement between the NFL and suspended Vikings RB Adrian Peterson remains a possibility.
Peterson’s hearing ended on Thursday andย Harold Hendersonย said that a ruling could comeย โas soon as practicable.โย The expectation is that Henderson will make a decision in the next week.
Henderson has reportedly urged both parties to discuss aย settlement in the time being, butย Tom Pelissero ofย USA TODAYย reported Friday night that the NFL had yet to extend Peterson’s campย aย formal offer.
Henderson is expected to monitor any settlement talks before handing down a ruling.
Florio writes thatย a settlement would “avoid the possibility of another written decision that makes the NFL look bad.”
Should Peterson win his appeal hearing, he would be able to play in the Vikings final three games of the 2014 season.
