The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Wednesday that Olasunkanmi Adeniyi has been designated to return from injured reserve.
This officially opens a three-week window of time for the Steelers to add him to their active roster or he would revert back to injured reserve.
Adeniyi, 21, wound up signing on with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo back in May. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Steelers, but was placed on injured reserve coming out of the preseason.
During his college career at Toledo, Adeniyi recorded 118 tackles, 12.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two recoveries and two pass defenses over the course of three seasons and 29 games.
