Steelers Place Four On COVID-19 List Including Ben Roethlisberger

The Steelers announced Tuesday they have placed QB Ben Roethlisberger, RB Jaylen Samuels, LB Vince Williams and OL Jerald Hawkins on the COVID-19 list.

Pittsburgh says all four players will have to isolate for five days away from the team facility and continue to pass COVID-19 tests in order to play this coming week.

They can continue to attend virtual meetings but none of them will be able to practice this week.

The Steelers placed TE Vance McDonald on the COVID-19 list on Monday, so this seems to indicate the other four players are potential high-risk contacts.

Roethlisberger, 38, is a former first-round pick of the Steelers back in 2004. He finalized a three-year, $68 million contract last offseason that included a $37.5 million signing bonus.

Roethlisberger stands to make base salaries of $2,500,000 and $8,500,000 over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2020, Roethlisberger has appeared in eight games for the Steelers and completed 68.1 percent of his passes for 1,934 yards, 18 touchdowns and four interceptions.

We’ll have more regarding the Steelers as the news is available.
