This will be Williams’ second stint on the list after coming up as a high contact last month.
It’s also another hit to an already severely depleted position group for Pittsburgh. Even if Williams is just a high-risk contact again, being out for five days rules him out for playing Sunday against the Bills, per Brooke Pryor.
Williams, 30, is a former sixth-round pick of the Steelers back in 2013. He was in the final year of his three-year, $6.175 million contract and set to make a base salary of $2 million for the 2018 season when he agreed to a new four-year deal worth $20.6 million in 2018.
In 2020, Williams has appeared in 12 games for the Steelers and recorded 63 tackles, three sacks and two fumble recoveries.
