Adam Schefter reports that the Steelers are re-signing LB Anthony Chickillo to a two-year, $8 million extension through the 2020 season.
Chickillo, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Steelers back in 2015. He was waived at the start of the 2015 season and later signed to the team’s practice squad.
It was just a few weeks into the 2015 season that the Steelers promoted Chickillo and he’s been on their active roster ever since.
Chickillo just finished a one-year restricted free agent contract with Pittsburgh and was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time.
In 2018, Chickillo appeared in all 16 games for the Steelers are recorded 23 total tackesl, four tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and two pass defenses.
