The Pittsburgh Steelers released WR Tyler Murphy on Wednesday to make room for RB LeโVeon Bell, who has been reinstated from his suspension, per Ed Bouchette.
Murphy, 23, signed on with the Steelers back in as an undrafted free agent out of Boston College. Heโs in the first year of his four-year, $1.579 million rookie contract included a $4,500 signing bonus.
Thereโs a chance he could be added to the teamโs practice squad in the coming days if he clears waivers.
This season, Murphy has appeared in two games and caught one pass for 16 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
