Steelers Sign LB Vince Williams To Three-Year Extension

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced that they’ve signed LB Vince Williams to a three-year contract extension on Tuesday.

The Steelers have made a point to not negotiate with players who aren’t in the final year of their contracts, and Williams fits this approach.

Williams, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Steelers back in 2013. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $2,238,680 rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $675,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Williams appeared in all 16 games for the Steelers and recorded 46 tackles, a half sack, two fumble recoveries and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 196 snaps in total and grading out as a solid linebacker.
