Johnson, 24, signed with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Buffalo following the 2019 NFL Draft. He was waived coming out of the preseason, however.
Johnson caught on with the Chargers practice squad in September and spent the rest of the regular season in Los Angeles before being cut.
In two years at Buffalo, Johnson caught 133 passes for 2,367 yards (17.8 YPC) and 23 touchdowns in 24 career games.
