According to Ian Rapoport, the Steelers are signing CB Trevon Mathis to the roster.
The move bolsters Pittsburgh’s cornerback depth, as starting CB Joe Haden injured his ankle in practice this week.
Mathis, 23, signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo in 2018. The Vikings waived Mathis during final roster cuts at the end of the preseason, however.
During his four-year college career, Mathis recorded 119 total tackles, one forced fumble, one recovery, six interceptions and 23 pass defenses.
