The Pittsburgh Steelers officially waived RBย Karlos Williams on Thursday.
Williams, 23, was taken in the fifth round of last yearโs NFL Draft by the Bills. Heย wasย in the second year of his four-year, $2,495,352 rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.
The Bills made the decision cut Williams in part to his conditioning being a major issue. Reports mentioned that Williams showed up to offseason workouts between 20-25 pounds overweight.
The Steelers signed him to their practice squadย in October and later brought him back on a futures deal.
Williams previously served a four-game suspension for violating the leagueโs Substances of Abuse Policy.
In 2015, Williams appeared in 11 games for the Bills and ran for 517 yards on 93 carries (5.6 YPC) to go along with 11 receptions for 96 yards receiving and 9 total touchdowns.
