The Pittsburghย Steelers officially waived TE Ryan Malleck from injured reserve on Tuesday.
Malleck, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech back in 2016. He was later waived coming out of the preseason and sat out the entire 2016 season.
Malleck had brief stints with the Steelers, Ravens and Texans before returning to the Steelers this past June on a one-year contract. Unfortunately, he was waived with an injury designation during the preseason and later reverted to the team’s injured reserve list.
In 2017, Malleck appeared in two games for the Texans and caught one pass for three yards and no touchdowns.
