The Pittsburgh Steelers officially placed RB Dreamius Smith on waivers Friday.
Smith, 24, wound up signing on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of West Virginia back in May of 2015. However, he was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason.
Smith was on and off of the Chargersโ practice squad and was cut loose with an injury designation coming out of the preseason. After later reverting to the Chargersโ injured reserve list, San Diego elected to cut him loose with an injury settlement before the regular season.
The Steelers signed him to their practice squad after he cleared waivers and was signed to a futures deal back in January.
In 2015, Smith appeared in two games for the Chargers but didnโtโ receive a single carry.
