On Wednesday, Colts WR T.Y. Hilton told reporters that he’s hoping to finish out his career in Indianapolis.
โI want to be a Colt for life, but it takes two sides. It’s up to (owner) Mr. Irsay and (GM) Chris (Ballard),” Hilton said, per Mike Wells.
Hilton mentioned that he’s had some discussions with the Colts about a new deal before the shutdown occurred. However, talks were later tabled, per Stephen Holder.
According to Hilton, his next contract will likely be his last, per Joel A. Erickson.
Hilton, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Colts back in 2012. He’s currently in the fifth year of his six-year, $65.547 million contract that included $39 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $13 million and $14,542,000 over the final two years of the agreement.
In 2019, Hilton has appeared in six games for the Colts and caught 32 passes for 360 yards receiving and five touchdowns. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 28 receiver out of 122 qualifying players.
Weโll have more regarding the Colts and Hilton as the news is available.
