ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater could be a “fallback option” for the Cincinnati Bengals and is at least “in the discussion” for them.
The Bengals could use some additional help at cornerback or to their defensive line, but depending on how things play out, I guess there is a chance that they could consider taking a quarterback in round one.
Andy Dalton is entering the final year of his contract and drafting someone like Bridgewater would give them some added leverage in contract discussions. Even if there were to pass on a quarterback in round one, they could consider taking someone later on.
Bridgewater’s stock appears to be in the late-first to early-second range, which means Cincinnati would almost certainly have to take him round one.
For what it’s worth, we have the Bengals draft Ohio State LB Ryan Shazier in ourย most recentย 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
