Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com reports that Texna have brought in five veteran quarterbacks on Monday to audition for the teams backup quarterback position. Scurfield lists Jeff Garcia, Trent Edwards, Chase Clement, Brody Croyle, and Kellen Clemens as the five players that were brought in.
Matt Leinart will take over as the teams starting quarterback Matt Schaub was lost for the season last week. It’s hard to know what they’re getting with Leinart as he was run out of Arizona for his poor performance but he’s had enough time to refocus himself and prepare for another shot at playing quarterback in the NFL. Still, it makes sense for the Texans to consider all options simply because they are in a great position to make the playoffs for the first time in the franchises history.
