Texans Claim WR Montay Crockett Off Waivers From Jaguars

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Texans have claimed WR Montay Crockett off of waivers from the Jaguars.

This move won’t be official until February 5, but Crockett will be playing for the Texans in 2018.

Crockett, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Southern back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Packers cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

The Jaguars later signed him to their practice squad and eventually promoted him to their active roster before placing him on waivers a few weeks ago.

During his college career at Georgia Southern, Crockett caught 28 passes for 442 yards receiving and two touchdowns over the course of 25 games.
