Texans Sign LB Xavier Woodson-Luster, Cut UDFA LB Chase Middleton

Per Aaron Wilson, the Texans have signed LB Xavier Woodson-Luster and released LB Chase Middleton following rookie minicamp.

Woodson-Luster, 23, signed on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas State back in May of 2017. Oakland re-signed him after making him one of their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason, but cut him once again shortly after.

The Bills signed him to their practice squad in December of last year and re-signed to a futures deal. He was also among Buffalo’s final roster cuts and has been on and off of the Browns’ practice squad this season.

In 2018, Woodson-Luster appeared in four games for the Browns and recorded one tackle.

Middleton, 22, signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia State following the 2019 NFL Draft.

During his four-year career at Georgia State, Middleton racked up 191 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, one interception and six pass defenses in 48 career games.
