Texans Ready To Cut Steve Slaton?

It has been all down hill for Houston Texans RB Steve Slaton since his breakout rookie season in which he tallied 1,282 yards rushing , 377 receiving and 10 touchdowns in 2008.

Since then Slaton has dealt with injuries and ball security issues which has lead to decreasing touches. In the time being the Texans have drafted Ben Tate and found pro bowl RB Adrian Foster which leaves him as an expensive third-option.

Pro Football Weekly notes that the Texans intend to use him during the preseason with the hope that they’ll be able to trade him.

NFL teams are more than aware of the Texans situation and Slaton’s value so it will most likely take an unbelievable performance or an injury to get a team to make a competitive offer for Slaton.
