The Houston Texans officially released WR Devin Lucien from their practice squad on Tuesday.
Houston’s practice squad now consists of:
- CB Bryce Jones
- G David Quessenberry
- CB Dee Virgin
- LB Kennan Gilchrist
- G Dorian Johnson
- RBย Troymaine Pope
- TE Ryan Malleck
- QB Taylor Heinicke
- DB Josh Thornton
Lucien, 24, is a former seventh-round pick by the Patriots out of Arizona State in the 2016ย NFL Draft. He was in the first year of a four-year rookie contract when the Patriots decided to waive him and sign him to their practice squad.
New England re-signed him to a futuresย contract back in February but was eventually waived with an injury settlement at the start of the 2016 season. After a brief stint on the Colts’ practice squad, Lucien signed on with the Chiefs but was released two weeks ago.
During his four-year college career, Lucien recordedย 124 receptions for 1,826 yards receiving (14.7 YPC) and 12 touchdowns.
