Texans Release WR Devin Lucien From Practice Squad

The Houston Texans officially released WR Devin Lucien from their practice squad on Tuesday.

Houston’s practice squad now consists of:

  1. CB Bryce Jones
  2. G David Quessenberry
  3. CB Dee Virgin
  4. LB Kennan Gilchrist
  5. G Dorian Johnson
  6. RB Troymaine Pope
  7. TE Ryan Malleck
  8. QB Taylor Heinicke
  9. DB Josh Thornton

Lucien, 24, is a former seventh-round pick by the Patriots out of Arizona State in the 2016 NFL Draft. He was in the first year of a four-year rookie contract when the Patriots decided to waive him and sign him to their practice squad.

New England re-signed him to a futures contract back in February but was eventually waived with an injury settlement at the start of the 2016 season. After a brief stint on the Colts’ practice squad, Lucien signed on with the Chiefs but was released two weeks ago.

During his four-year college career, Lucien recorded 124 receptions for 1,826 yards receiving (14.7 YPC) and 12 touchdowns.
