Matt Maiocco of the CSN Bay Area mentions that he believes the San Francisco 49ers have Stanford TE Coby Fleener on the โshort listโ of players theyโre considering at #30 overall.
Thereโs been some talk for a few months now that Fleener could end up playing for his former college coach Jim Harbaugh, who would supposedly love to add another tight to their roster. The general consensus has been that theyโll most likely end up targeting a receiver or a guard at the end of the first, but this too is a possibility.

Tony Pauline of TFY Draft Insider reports that โseveral sourcesโ have informed him that the Houston Texans โseriously consideringโ drafting Stanford TE Coby Fleener with the #26 overall pick in the upcoming draft.
This is certainly an interesting suggestion considering that many have them taking either a receiver like Stephen Hill or a defensive player like Nick Perry. They do have Own Daniels on their roster, who has been a decent weapon for them when healthy, but the loss of Lawrence Vickers will likely shift James Casey to fullback next year, so an additional tight end could really help.
Over the weekend, there was some talk that Fleener could actually be one of the most overrated players in this yearโs draft, considering that heโs not viewed as a complete tight end. Itโs at least an interesting idea to consider, even if the Texans choose to go in a different direction.
