According to Troy Renck, the Texans are one “several” teams showing “strong interest” in Broncos free agent CB Chris Harris Jr.
Renck previously mentioned that the Cowboys, Raiders, Jets, and Lions are also among the teams with interest in Harris, who appears to have a solid market for his services.
Despite several rounds of negotiations, Harris and the Broncos were unable to come to an agreement on an extension in 2019. Denver was reportedly shopping him for a second-round pick at the trade deadline this past season.
Harris, 30, wound up signing on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas back in 2011. He has played all seven years of his NFL career in Denver.
Harris was entering the final year of his five-year, $42.5 million contract that included a $10 million signing bonus and was set to make a base salary of $7.8 million for the 2019 season when Denver signed him to a new, one-year, $12.05 million deal last offseason.
In 2019, Harris appeared in all 16 games for the Broncos and recorded 56 total tackles, one forced fumble, one interception and six pass defenses.
