Texans Sign C Nick Martin To Three-year, $33M Extension

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Texans have signed C Nick Martin to a three-year, $33 million extension that includes $18.35 million guaranteed.

At $11 million in new annual average salary, Martin would be tied with Maurkice Pouncey as the second-highest-paid center in the league.

Martin, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Texans back in 2016. He was in the final year of his four-year, $4.77 million contract and set to make a base salary of $1.1 million for the 2019 season.

Martin would have been an unrestricted free agent in 2020.

In 2018, Martin appeared in all 16 games for the Texans, making 16 starts at center.
