According to Aaron Wilson, the Texans and LB Brennan Scarlett have agreed to a one-year, $3.75 million extension.
Scarlett will still play out the 2019 season under the $2.025 million restricted free agent tender he signed this offseason. He’s now under contract in Houston through the 2020 season.
Scarlett, 26, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford back in 2016. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury before being activated later on.
Scarlett landed on the injured reserve again in December of last year due to a foot injury, making this his third time being placed on IR in his NFL career.
In 2018, Scarlett appeared in 12 games and recorded 18 total tackles, no sacks, one interception, three pass defenses, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
