Texans Tried Out Three Players Including WR Devin Smith

According to Howard Balzer, the Houston Texans brought in three free agents for workouts this week including WR Deontez Alexander, CB Horace Richardson, and WR Devin Smith.

Smith, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Jets back in 2015. He was in the final year of his four-year, $5.872 million rookie contract that includes $3.667 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season when the Jets waived him this past July.

Since entering the NFL, Smith has suffered two torn ACLs.

In 2016, Smith was limited to appearing in just four games and caught one pass for 20 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
