The Houston Texans officially waived DE Ira Lewis from the non-football injury list on Friday.
Lewis, 24, wound up going undrafted out of Baylor back in April of last year. He later agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Texans.
Houston waived Lewis with an injury designation during the preseason and he later reverted to injured reserve. The Texans once again waived Lewis a few weeks ago with a non-football injury designation and he reverted to their non-football injury list soon after.
During his college career at Baylor, Lewis recorded 99 tackles, 11 sacks, and a fumble recovery while appearing in 35 games over three seasons.
