Texans Worked Out G Sean Hickey & OT Jason Weaver

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Texans brought in G Sean Hickey and OT Jason Weaver for workouts on Wednesday.

Hickey, 25, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Syracuse in May of last year. He, unfortunately, wasn’t able to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but later signed to their practice squad.

After a brief stint with the Patriots, Hickey signed a future/reserve contract with the Jets. However, New York placed him on waivers a week after this year’s draft. The Vikings signed him to a contract during the summer but elected to cut him loose a few weeks ago.

He’s been on and off of the Vikings’ practice squad since then.

Hickey has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Weaver, 27, originally signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Miss back in 2013. After brief stints with the Bengals, Dolphins and Saints, Weaver signed a contract with the Bears towards the end of the 2014 season.

Chicago elected to bring him back on a future/reserve contract before later waiving him at the start of the season. The Bears signed him to their practice squad but elected to cut him loose back in September.

Weaver has yet to appear in an NFL game.
