Adam Schefter reports that the Titans are bringing in free agent WR Jordan Matthews for a visit.
The receiver is reportedly seeking a $5 million annual contract and has met with the Packers, Patriots, and Cardinals this offseason, but never finalized a contract.
Arizona offered Matthews a contract, but it was apparently not up to his standards.
Matthews has dealt with a number of injuries in recent years and given where we are in the NFL offseason, it’s unlikely that he’ll secure a solid contract. Instead, Matthews could be looking at a one-year, prove-it deal with a team and then hit the open market again in 2019.
Matthews, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2014.ย The Eagles traded Matthews and a 2018 third-round pick to the Bills in return forย CB Ronald Darby last year.
Matthews played out theย final year of his four-year, $4,949,269 contract and made a base salary of $1,094,901 for the 2017 season.
In 2017, Matthews appeared in 10 games and caught 25 passes for 282 yards receiving and one touchdown for the Bills. Unfortunately,ย Matthews’ season ended with him being placed on injured reserve.
We have Matthews featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
