Titans Place OL John Theus On Retired List

The Tennessee Titans announced Wednesday that they’ve placed OL John Theus on the reserve/retirement list.

Theus, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2016. He signed a four-year, $2.59 million contract with the 49ers and was set to make base salaries of 540,000 and $630,000 over the next two years of the agreement when he was waived last September.

Theus was claimed off of waivers by the Panthers before he was waived in February and once again claimed, this time by the Saints.

New Orleans cut Theus loose a few weeks after this year’s draft and he was claimed by the Titans. Tennessee elected to place him on their non-football injury list last week.

In 2016, Theus was active for four games.
