The Tennessee Titans announced that they’ve made Dick LeBeau theirย assistant head coach/defensive coordinator.
- The Titans alsoย hired veteranย coach Bobby April as their new special teams coordinator.
This comes just hours after DC Ray Hortonย departed for the Browns’ defensive coordinator position under new HC Hue Jackson.
There was some concern about Titans HC Mike Mularkey’s ability to bring in quality coaches, given that he only received a three-year contract from the team instead of a longer-term commitment. However, keeping LeBeau in Tennessee is a big move the team’s defensive continuity.
Last year, the Steelers elected to move on from LeBeau, but he later caught on with the Titans, servingย as assistant head coach/defense under hisย long-time protรฉgรฉ Horton.
In 2015, the Titans ranked No. 12 in total yards, No. 7 in passing yards, No. 18 in rushing yards and No. 27 in total points allowed.
