Titans Starting Jake Locker In Week 12?

During Yesterdayโ€™s loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Titans QB Matt Hasselbeck injured his elbow and was replaced by rookie QB Jake Locker.

Tennessee has said that Hassebeckโ€™s injury is a sprained right elbow but thereโ€™s a chance that he also has a strained flexor muscle in his forearm.

โ€œI just wasnโ€™t able to throw the ball hard at a competitive level,โ€ Hasselbeck said.

Titans head coach Mike Munchak mentioned that โ€œIf Matt is fine, he is the quarterback. There is no doubt about that,โ€ per  Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.

Locker finished the game completing 9 of 19 passing attempts for 140 yards and two touchdowns.

Obviously, Locker brings a different skill set to the team than Hasselbeck does but Mike Munchak is doing his best to squash any speculation that there could be a quarterback controversy in Tennessee. If the Titans continue to lose, there will be calls for Locker to start which would seem to make sense as they spent the No. 8 overall pick in the 2011 draft on him. Other rookies are starting and having success so itโ€™s going to be hot topic in the weeks to come in the team falls out of contention for the AFC South title.
