ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo not only returned from a broken rib but he also played through a punctured lung.
Mortensen adds that Romo’s status for week 3 is still up in the air but he’s hoping to play in Sunday’s game against the Redskins which end up having implications on who will ultimately win the NFC East.
There has been a lot made about Romo’s toughness over the course of his career in Dallas but to say that he needed to play through a cracked rib and a punctured lung in order to prove something, is just crazy. The guy is a good player that gives his team their best shot at winning games. John Kitna nearly threw the game away until Romo forced his way back into the game and ultimately won it.
