According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, the Falcons are trading TE Eric Saubert to the Patriots on Monday for a conditional seventh-round draft pick.
Saubert joins Matt LaCosse, Ben Watson, Stephen Anderson, Ryan Izzo and Lance Kendricks on the Patriots’ roster at tight end.
This isn’t a large investment from the Patriots standpoint, so it remains to be seen whether Saubert will make the roster in the coming weeks.
Saubert, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Falcons back in 2017. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2.62 million contract and set to make base salaries of $645,000 and $735,000 over the final two years of the agreement.
For his career, Saubert has caught five passes for 48 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
