Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Packers have agreed to trade WR/KR Trevor Davis to the Raiders on Wednesday.
- According to Jerry McDonald, the Raiders are trading a sixth-round pick to the Packers for Davis.
Rapoport mentions that Davis gives the Raiders a speedy receiver, who also happens to be a solid punt and kick returner. In fact, Rapoport mentions that he should have an immediate opportunity to compete at receiver for Oakland.
Raiders WR/KR Dwayne Harris suffered an ankle injury during Sunday’s game, which is likely why they pursued a trade for Davis.
Green Bay recently claimed DB/KR Tremon Smith off of waivers, so they do have an in-house candidate to replace Davis on special teams.
Davis, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Packers back in 2016. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $2.5 million contract and set to make a base salary of $720,000 for the 2019 season.
Davis is in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.
In 2019, Davis has appeared in two games for the Packers and caught one pass for 28 yards receiving.
