Trade Rumors: Dolphins, Jets, Patriots

Dolphins

  • According to Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins are shopping S Reshad Jones, who happens to have a large contract. Should he be traded, Rapoport says it’s unlikely it will be for much given his age and contract.
  • Rapoport says that Dolphins are open to trading RB Kenyan Drake, who would welcome a deal out of Miami.
  • The Dolphins are reportedly hoping to recoup a fourth-round pick for Drake, which happens to be what they received in the Jay Ajayi trade.

Jets

  • Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Jets are open to dealing DE Leonard Williams, WR Robby Anderson, and CB Trumaine Johnson.
  • Although Rapoport says Johnson isn’t expected to have a market because of his salary and play this season.
  • Regarding Williams, Rapoport reports that he would likely garner a third-round pick, given that New York would most likely recoup a third-round compensatory pick in free agency if he were to talk next year.
  • Rapoport tosses out the Raiders as a team to watch for Anderson.

Patriots

  • While he would never say never, Michael Lombardi reports that the Patriots are not involved in any trade deals right now, given that they have limited cap room.
  • Lombardi says that the trade of Michael Bennett was essentially for Mohamed Sanu in terms of cap room.
